Welcome to the DealLog Blog

Welcome to the DealLog blog — a place where we share ideas, experience, and practical insights about designing and building timber structures in a digital environment.

Here you’ll find articles, guides, and real-world stories about how manufacturers can use online tools to design, present, and sell their products more effectively. We’ll talk about pergolas, carports, garden structures, and other timber-based constructions that can be configured and visualized online.

This blog is part of the 3dp.deallog.pro platform — a tool that helps manufacturers create interactive 3D configurators for their customers. These configurators make it easier to visualize a project, simplify communication between the customer and the company, and shorten the path from an initial idea to a real built structure.

From the Author

Looking back, it sometimes feels like my entire professional journey has gradually led to this project.

From the very beginning, I found myself combining several interests: software development, architecture — especially timber construction — and marketing. I’ve been working as an independent entrepreneur for more than 15 years, and for the past two years I’ve also been developing my business in Portugal.

About three or four years ago, I created a small online calculator for modular gazebo structures. It was commissioned by one of my long-term clients. He had developed an interesting system: a frame-based structure built from modular partition panels that could be combined into different layouts. Thanks to this modular logic, the gazebos could easily be adapted to different sizes, layouts, features, and even structural loads.

Later, the client decided to move away from that concept and focus on more premium products. But the calculator itself remained on the website and continued to work.

And that’s when something happened that genuinely surprised me.

Even without advertising and without serious SEO optimization, the page gradually started attracting steady organic traffic. People would visit, configure their own gazebo options, and submit inquiries. New leads simply started appearing in the CRM, and the sales manager only needed to discuss delivery and installation details.

That was the moment I first realized that tools like this could solve much bigger problems.

After that, I began studying timber design in much greater depth, reading technical documentation and analyzing a large number of prefabricated wooden structure projects. Over time, it became clear that the idea of an online configurator could grow into something much more powerful than just a calculator.

I also had several long conversations with architects and designers I know. Those discussions ultimately confirmed my belief that parametric design is a natural fit not only for architecture, but also for online marketing. The real challenge was finding the right way to connect those two worlds.

That is how 3dp.deallog.pro was born.

Today, it is a startup developing in several directions at once. We designed the platform to solve problems for multiple participants in the process.

For the Customer

The configurator allows customers to quickly visualize a product and build their own version of it without needing to understand complex technical terminology, structural loads, or material specifications. On many websites, the same image may represent several completely different construction options, which often creates confusion. A 3D model solves that problem.

For the Sales Manager

The company receives more qualified and better-structured leads. Customers already have a clearer idea of what they want, which makes communication much easier. On top of that, an interactive tool makes the company’s website significantly stronger and more competitive.

For the Architect or Designer

Professionals can immediately see what kind of structure the customer is looking for. The 3D model can also be imported into professional software such as Archicad and used as a starting point for further design work. This can significantly speed up the planning process.

For Marketing and SEO

Interactive tools help generate leads and improve user engagement on the website. Visitors spend more time on the page, interact more deeply with the product, and this often has a positive effect on both conversion rates and search visibility.

Of course, one article cannot cover everything.

In this blog, we’ll share our experience building the platform, explore how 3D configurators can be used in different industries, and discuss the future of digital design for timber structures.
